Undead Labs generated some excitement a few days ago with their announcement of an upcoming game, and today they revealed their new game, Moonrise. Somewhat disappointingly, the game is mobiles only.
The Undead Labs game is creature-collection RPG that contrasts a lot to their former game, State of Decay. Featuring bright colors and a fantastical settings, it is surprising to hear the game is from the same company. As you look more and more at it you see some of the same patterns within the gameplay.
While this news is not exactly what fans had hoped for, Undead Labs assured more is to come from State of Decay in the future and that the development of Moonrise did not hinder their progress with the zombie survival-shooter.
“First, our commitment to State of Decay is stronger than ever. …. the core State of Decay team continued to work on those things after the release of the game last summer, we built another team to take on [Moonrise].”
The developer assures that their current partnership with Microsoft and their new-found work with author, J.L. Bourne is leading to “something,” but what that exactly is remains obscure.
