Ubisoft utilizing free multiplayer trials to promote Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4 will be expanding their market by releasing free multiplayer codes.

Alex Hutchinson, creative director of Far Cry 4, addressed the media at Comic Con San Diego today and stated that they plan on releasing 10 multiplayer trial codes for each person to purchase the game. The buyers will be free to distribute the codes to anyone they’d like.

The plan is excellent for Ubisoft to utilize the community to promote the game within themselves while also providing an enjoyable adventure for those who are given a trial code.

The joining player will play as “Huck” in a co-operative multiplayer where the joining player assists from a gyrocopter and provides air-support to the main player.

Though Hutchinson didn’t specify an exact timeframe for when the trials will expire, he did note that in order for the 10 additional trial-players to play the game, the actual owner of the game must be online and playing. A catch to those who think they would just play the trial rather than purchase the full game.

Far Cry 4 is coming November 18 this year to PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
