Evolve and Majora’s Mask leading the UK charts

Take Two Interactive found the winning formula with Evolve after a long hiatus from the top of UK Charttrack’s rankings.

The co-op squad multiplayer-focused game gives players a terrifying playground as a small group battles an increasingly powerful monster.

Each player has their own skill sets and abilities depending on whichever class they elect to play as that makes for an exciting game gameplay-wise. However some underlying problems and concerns regarding whether the game creators would opt for a DLC focused experience worried some gamers.

It seems the high-quality experience has trumped those concerns and given it the number one spot in the UK and likely other markets as well.

Another game that is experiencing great success in the UK and other markets as well is the re-make of the classic Nintendo blockbuster — The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask which takes the number two spot on Charttrack.

Evolve delayed to early 2015

Evolve found well-deserved appreciatiion at the E3 Critic Awards
Evolve found well-deserved appreciatiion at the E3 Critic Awards

Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly report revealed that 2k games’ Evolve, the best of show winner at the E3 critic awards, will be delayed until Febuary 10, 2015.

Though the launch will be moving from the original October 21st release, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said he certainly likes the new release time.

“If you look at our history since we took over the company seven years ago, we have largely stayed out of the Holiday period and gone into what our competitors consider ‘non-traditional’ release windows. And that has served us very well,”  Zelnick reported to MCVUK.

The company’s plans to capitalize on a less clustered market time-frame with their February release, should pay dividends for Evolve. Bioshock: Infinite, Red Dead Redemption, and L.A. Noire were released in non-traditional release windows and each of the games received a great deal of praise and success.

The rest of Take-Two Interactive’s planned lineup later this year, including the updated GTA V for new-gen consoles, remains intact.
