Star Fox Zero Not In Flight Until 2016

Star Fox Zero has been delayed until 2016. The new title was to be the star showcase of Nintendo’s fall lineup, but has been delayed to further polish the experience. Shigeru Miyamoto spoke to fans on Nintendo’s official facebook page:

“Although we felt that the development had been progressing well, we now believe that we will need a little more time to work on areas such as the unprecedented discovery that we want players to experience in the game by using two screens, and further polishing the level designs and perfecting the tone of the cut scenes.”

The news should not come as a surprise, as the Nintendo philosophy regarding game design merits this course of action. Miyamoto has been quoted in the past ” Nintendo’s philosophy is never to go the easy path; it’s always to challenge ourselves and try to do something new.”

Star Fox Zero is currently working to incorporate the Wii U’s controller screen concurrently with the television screen to deliver a unique gaming experience. In order to fully realize the game’s potential, further development is the only sensible decision.
