Runescape creator develops new game with custom engine and programming language — Solstrike

Andrew Gower, co-founder of Jagex Games Studios and writer of the renowned MMORPG Runescape, is forging a new path in his videogame making career with Solstrike, a new turn-based strategy game.

Entirely custom made, Solstrike evolved from some simple testing of the developing engine, 'fen forge.'

As Andrew Gower and his team began testing his new engine and programming language, Fen Forge, they had slowly stumbled into creating a fully functional game with its own intricacies and excitements in Solstrike and are hoping to have their 2D strategy game green-lit on Steam.

The game is simple at its core, but their motives to create a full fledged game from their testing is well understood with its multiplayer elements and its balanced gamestyle that includes 30 unique units right now, and plans to incorporate 120 units provided it receives enough favorable votes on Steam.

A free early access iteration of the game is available on solstrike’s official website right now, and for those who like what they see they can help Green Light the game on Steam, here.
