Resident Evil 2 remake confirmed

Continuing the recent Resident Evil string of games that Capcom has been remaking, remastering, and releasing on new generation consoles, a new revelation that many had already expected — a Resident Evil 2 remake has been confirmed.

In the latest announcement video, the lead man and producer for the Resident Evil 2 remake, Yoshiaki Hirabyashi, claims that they will work closely with fans to determine the exact gameplay experience that people want.

Hirabyashi has keeping fans already closely connected to the project through facebook and after submitting his project proposal to the higher-ups at Capcom was approved for the game’s creation.

“It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have pushed the project to get approved. The team here at Capcom Japan really appreciates fans’ passion and support and will do our best to bring fans what they really want.”

Given that this game will be a remake and has just been approved it will be quite some times until fans get a look at gameplay — let alone a completed game. Though concept art and other small hints at the game’s progression will continue to be shared on Facebook, twitter, and on Capcom’s official website.
