ARK: Survival Evolved the first of many games to receive a custom Unreal Engine 4 mod editor

ARK: Survival Evolved has already received massive acclaim and commercial success, selling over 1 million copies after 30 days of being on Steam Early Access. To continue that trend, developers of the game, Studio Wildcard, will be collaborating with Epic Games to showcase the tools and development resources that are accessible to the ARK modding community with the first custom mod editor using the Unreal Engine 4.

“As we’ve opened up the world of ARK to everyone, we’ve been seriously on the edge of our seats with anticipation. The amazing gameplay ideas lighting up the forum conversations can be turned into reality right away,” – Jesse Rapczak

Rapczak, Studio Wildcard’s co-founder and co-creative director has praised the type of tools offered through Unreal Engine 4 and he is excited by the prospect of “the limitless creativity of fans.”

Studio Wildcard and EPIC Games will broadcast their walkthrough of the modding process at on Thursday, July 9 at 11 a.m. PST/2 p.m. EST

Players who have purchased ARK can immediately begin modding. Use the ARK Mod Tutorial to begin modding and join the Unreal Engine ARK Modding forum. Modders can also share their work via the Steam Workshop.

Unreal has claimed the modding scene and is now “an incredibly influential force of the game industry.” It’s impact on a game can take it to greater heights than what the developers may have initially shot for. This same mantra will be true with ARK: Survival Evolved.
